The South Providence Development Corporation (SPDC) is a non-profit, 501-c (3) organization designed as a partnership between the residents of South Providence, Rhode Island Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital and Women & Infants' Hospital. Its founding partners also include The Providence Plan, the Rhode Island Human Resource Investment Council, the Minority Investment Development Corporation, Gilbane Building Company, Fleet Bank, City of Providence and State of Rhode Island.
